UGO: A HOMECOMING STORY
After a life spent in Greece and a career in the US, Greek-Nigerian, NBA superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo has seemingly achieved it all — except one thing. He had never been to his homeland of Nigeria.
Inspired by the universal truth– “you can’t fully know who you are, until you understand where you’re from,” UGO, titled after Giannis’ Igbo name, is a 32-minute documentary following Giannis as he travels to his Nigerian homeland for the first time. In Nigeria, he explores all sides of his cross-cultural identity and gains a deeper understanding of his family, his culture and himself.
In addition to the documentary we produced an accompanying social content series and collection of cutdowns that continued to spotlight the voices of the global diaspora.
